Windsor Chiropractor Dr. Michelle Prince

"I still remember bringing home the polaroid photo of my posture assessment - and how crooked it appeared."

I was in grade five and we went for a class visit to a chiropractor who was the father of one of the students. No one seemed very concerned that I had scoliosis - lots of people do. It didn't bother my doctors, or me for that matter. It didn't hurt. Fast forward fifteen years when a chiropractor tells me I have bone spurring (spinal degeneration) secondary to the scoliosis and that it could have been prevented. Through chiropractic care, of course! Imagine my disappointment for all of the lost time. It was there and then I decided that not only would I devote my career to educating people about the importance of spinal health but, that I would do it for children also. I didn't want anyone to end up in my situation. So today I have Lifetime Wellness Center where I see newborns, children and families and educate them regarding the potentially deadly effects that poor spinal heallth can have on their lives. I love what I do and I get to see miracles happen everyday!

A Chiropractic Education

I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor where I received an Honors in Human Kinetics (Co-op). In 1994 I attended the prestigious Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto (then it was the only school for chiropractic in Canada). After four years of study I pursued additional training in Pediatrics so that I would be fully competent in adjusting the pediatric spine. I took my training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and am proud to be a member of the organization still today. I am certified in the Websters In-Utero Constraint technique. This is a technique where a baby is in the improper position for a normal vaginal delivery and if the mother does not want to have a risky cesarean section, gentle adjustments are performed on the mothers pelvis to allow the baby to turn to the proper head down position. I am proud of our 80% track record with the moms we have worked with over the years!

On a Personal Note...

We have fun in our office too! During our "Theme of the Month" you may see us in our pajamas for Sleep Week or serving up guacamole for Cinco de Mayo! We participate in regular activities around the community including Kids Health Day, Backpack Safety Day, our Hat and Mitten drive for Salvation Army or maybe you have bid on one of the hundreds of silent auction items we have donated to local charity events. You may have heard me on the local radio station "Experts On Call" program or maybe I've done a "Lunch and Learn" lecture in your workplace. What you may not know is that I'm also the local Movie Reviewer you hear on the AM800 Morning Drive. If you're up early enough you can catch my movie of the week rating. It's my hobby and getaway time to see a movie each week. I've been doing it for the past ten years!

I have a wonderful family, my husband Eddie, daughter Sienna and son Phoenix keep me very busy! We live a very healthy and active lifestyle. You may see us at the gym (as early as 5am!) or walking our neighbourhood streets. We choose everything from organic food to the best supplements we can. Our daughter loves to take her VitaKids! Ask me about that sometime. We take a simple approach to life; "Work hard and play hard".

Thanks for visiting this website. I hope to learn a lot about you and how I may help you lead a healthy and active lifestyle as well. Email me or give me a call at the office, you'll be glad you did!

Dr. Michelle Asks some important questions of interest to Windsor residents - Chiropractor Windsor Dr. Michelle Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
